The 50 States The United States (U.S.) is made up of 50 states. Most of the states are next to each other. There are two states that do not touch the rest of the states. These are Alaska and Hawaii.
Look at the map of the U.S.. Where do you think the Four Corners region is? It is the area where four states meet each other.
